A graduate of Washington University, she co-founded Godmother Productions (an independent film company) in San Francisco, which was involved in several films, including TELL ME A RIDDLE. TELL ME A RIDDLE received
numerous awards including best picture at the London Film Festival. Ms. Affrime also co-produced a television motion picture for ABC entitled OKLAHOMA CITY DOLLS. In 1987 and 1988, Ms. Affrime worked as an
independent producer at Atlantic Releasing in Los Angeles, where she was active in film financing. In 1989, she continued her producing by teaming up with Thom Mount (BULL DURHAM, DEATH IN THE MAIDEN) to run his low
budget division. In 1994, Ms. Affrime joined Academy Award winning director Roland Joffe as an executive at his company, Lightmotive, Inc. In 1995, Ms Affrime started up her own production company, MAP Films.
In 1996, FEMALE PERVERSIONS marked the first production of MAP Films. FEMALE PERVERSIONS was written and directed by Susan Streitfeld and stars Tilda Swinton and Amy Madigan. With Siskel and Ebert bestowing 'Two
thumbs up', FEMALE PERVERSIONS enjoyed both critical and financial success in its run throughout the United States and around the world.
In 1997, Ms. Affrime executive produced WRESTLING WITH ALLIGATORS, a film directed by Laurie Weltz and produced by Marcia Kirkley.
This film was invited to the 1998 Sundance Film Festival in its dramatic film competition. WRESTLING WITH ALLIGATORS was co-financed by Portman Entertainment, a British production and foreign sales company. Consequently, Portman retained Ms. Affrime to be their U.S. sales representative. During her 3 years there, some of her sales included, SAVING GRACE, which she sold to Fine Line.
In 2001, Mindy Affrime Productions produced Susan Streitfeld's THE SUMMER OF MY DEFLOWERING, a short feature for Regina Ziegler's German Television Series, EROTIC TALES.
Ms. Affrime is currently producing GOLF IN THE KINGDOM with Michael Murphy. Susan Streitfeld, Murphy, and Affrime co-wrote the script and Ms. Streitfeld is set to direct. The film's production schedule will be
announced soon.
